Ground floor commercial spaces front onto Menzies and Michigan streets.
Construction is really taking a toll on Superior and Michigan. The pavement was none too good before, but now it is truly deplorable. I hope they repave that area when Capital Park is built out.
They’re up to the second storey on the Phase 2 office building...
There’s a new crosswalk across Superior from the back of the Ledge, complete with what looks like stainless bollards.
The plaza is really going ahead. They’re working a lot on the water features and wood seating, and have started the pavers in the central bit.
I believe the plaza is supposed to be ready by August, and the pavilion building by late Fall (you can see the window frames have been put in the latter).
I’m pretty sure the two angled corners of the office buildings will give a reflection of each other & the plaza, based on the angle in that last photo.
It’s hard to tell until they remove the fencing and you can get in there, but perhaps the angles are right to see a reflection of the legislature from the plaza?
Two heritage homes being moved from the 500-block of Michigan Street to a Dallas Road site will require both truck and barge transport.
Offices, residences and commercial spaces will be added to James Bay's legislative precinct as part of a major redevelopment.
