Looked like a really interesting development in an area of the core that I think will really increase in value over time; I do find as I get closer to retirement I look more closely at real estate options here, up island and near Squamish - but maaaaan that pic of the living room just killed it for me: what is with contemporary designs in living room/TV viewing areas that leave so little physical space that the couch/sofa/recliner etc., is positioned 3 feet from the TV? I'd feel like I was sitting first row center at Silver City....
Whatever happened to condo/town-home designs where you aren't so bloody close to it that when you exhale your breath fogs up the screen?
Do you really have to spend a million bucks these days just to secure a respectable distance between you and the TV screen? Admittedly I was spoiled in my Fairfield condo, which was 1300 s/f, and sitting on the far end of my couch I probably had a good 5 meters viewing distance, but who wants to be so close to the set that you feel like you're actually in the movie? I want to watch the silly thing, not be swallowed up by it.
Matt.
Not only that, ASE, but the designers always put the TV above the fireplace. Not necessarily the best space or angle for TV viewing.

I personally can't stand the TV being up that high. I think this is going to be the shag carpeting of current design. People are going to look at buildings from this period and ask why the heck anyone thought it was a good idea to mount TVs that way.
