First phase of Vic West's Roundhouse development to launch with 26-storey condo tower

Focus Equities has revealed plans for its latest phase of residences at Vic West’s Bayview Place and Roundhouse developments.
Stacking up to 26-storeys with approximately 200-units, the fourth highrise tower and the first phase of the 'Roundhouse' component at the multi-acred masterplanned community (bordered by Esquimalt Road, Tyee Road, Kimta Road and Catherine Street) is expected to start rising as early as mid-2018.
During an open house and information session held for potential buyers – which continues today (November 9th) until 8PM at the Bayview Place sales centre adjacent to the under construction Encore tower – individuals were asked to submit their suggestions for the building’s amenities and to identify their ideal unit type.
Floorplan layouts will range from approximately 400 square foot studios to expansive 1,500 square foot three-bedroom suites. Details on the building’s penthouse units were not immediately available.
Focus Equities expects to receive a development permit from the City of Victoria the by the end of this year. Rezoning and approvals for the size and massing of the 26-storey tower were approved by Victoria councillors several years ago.
Bayview Place currently consists of the 11-storey Bayview One condominium tower, completed in 2009, the 21-storey (and Victoria’s current tallest building) Promontory condominium tower built in 2014, and under construction since last year is the 17-storey Encore condominium tower slated for occupancy by the fall of next year.
Future plans for the overall Roundhouse site include several highrises in addition to the upcoming 26-storey condominium, a seniors residential complex and a commercial component centred on the property’s historic railroad roundhouse. C
