The roof top is not for sale and I cannot imagine paying that much per square foot for an apartment. But someone probably will.
Right?? I am finding these resale prices here pretty eye popping (recognizing that it's the sold price that counts, but still). It's a nice unit, but $1,500 a sq ft (finished) ?!
The rooftop is cool for sure. But surely it’ll get next to no use. Who wants to throw a party among uninvited guests? On a windy rooftop to boot.
You'd be surprised. Yates and especially Vivid rooftops are used very often by many people. Obviously not the cold months, but it gets pretty hoppin' in the summer. A lot of residents like to host, and it makes a great pregame spot before going out with friends. I was up BBQing the other night and lots of people were coming and going, and there was a big party of 10 at the fire pit. There were 4 or 5 other groups across at Vivid. Some folks enjoying a glass of wine in the lounge chairs, some folks BBQing, some hanging around and chatting. As condos and apartments keep getting smaller and smaller, these rooftop amenities are a welcome reprieve - they get used.
Yeah, that makes sense. There were always people at the Wade's rooftop.
Back in the day there were gangs of punks in Victoria who would improvise rooftop gatherings, no proper patio space required.

So many people had keys to market square shops, rooftop events happened once in a while, especially when there was music in the square and fireworks nights. Security didn’t mind as long as there weren’t any problems.
Drove through here today, lots of moving trucks and mattresses being delivered.
