Victoria-based cannabis retailer Original FARM has secured the City of Victoria's first provincial and municipal approvals to sell cannabis products.
Original FARM's 1402 Douglas Street licensed location, situated in a space formerly occupied by an Aveda salon, is described by FARM's management as "weeks away from opening."
Municipal approvals are still oustanding for FARM's second location within the City of Victoria at 3055 Scott Street and Hillside Avenue. Although a provincial permit is now in place, the City has requested that community engagement continue on the Scott Street dispensary with a public hearing planned for later this year.
Original FARM is also working on a Langford-based dispensary at the under construction Belmont Market shopping centre on Jacklin Road. A path towards permitting for the Westshore dispensary, which was first revealed by Citified late last year, remains in place.
Boosting confidence in FARM's positive reception by Langford council is a recent approval for a temporary use permit for a dispensary along Veterans Memorial Parkway near that community's RCMP detachment.
Last Year Original Farm voluntarily closed its Scott Street location after more than three years in business while the company pursued formal permitting and approvals follow federal legalization of cannabis. Meanwhile, the Douglas Street location has undergone tenant improvements in preparation for approvals but has remained closed. C
