The $24-million Victoria International Marina taking shape along the Vic West shoreline of the Inner Harbour is reportedly months behind schedule.
Originally planned to open on July 1 as per an online countdown timer on the project's website, the completion of the 28-slip landing with docks capable of handling luxury vessels upwards of 150 feet in length has been pushed back by several months.
Meanwhile, the project's two ancillary buildings that will flank the slips at the base of Cooperage Place are not expected to open until next year. Slated the contain marina services and a restaurant, the two-storey structures overlooking the harbour were planned for completion by year's end.
Developer Community Marine Concepts received municipal approvals to build the marina in ealy 2016. Construction began in the fall of last year.
