...Council has to make the best decision they can that they as a democratic group have been elected to do.
Thanks for this laugh.
No .one makes perfect decisions.
Just because you do not agree with the democratic decisions made does not make them a joke.
They are by definition the best decision that that group of elected people could make on that point that day. They are elected to make decisions not only the decisions that you like.
If you think that you can do better run for office or support others who run who have opinions like yours. Constant negative comments like those above about council decisions on its own are counter productive.
...They are by definition the best decision that that group of elected people could make on that point that day....
I think you might actually believe this.
Moderation is rather embarrassing as to their stated position, One almost has to assume that it is one of the usual shills for TV that attempts to stifle discussion.
One of the attributes of a democracy is that it is perfectly acceptable to criticize elected officials especially when there decisions are inept and irresponsible. being elected is not the equivalent of making the best or even good decisions.
But moderation already knows this and is simply attempting to manipulate the discussion. And yes I am assuming that proposition since the alternative is that Moderation, to pit it kindly, has a severe intellectual deficit.
Our democracy is based on passing the authority of much decision making to those who have been elected by the population.
Freedom of speech is not any part of what I said. I am simply suggesting that just calling the decisions of our elected official as wrong or a joke does little to address the decision. Better to suggest alternatives, get involved in public meeting or support the election of people who hold similar views to themselves. Making derogatory remarks about people is also not helpful if you want to address issues and have a constructive conversation.
We are now way off topic. I rest my opinion.
