I never got the bellyaching and moaning about the YYJ roundabout myself; first time I did it was late at night on an overcast rainy eveninig. Obviously I had not driven it to that point. Breezed through it. Took my time watching for other cars and followed the painted symbols on the road. Easy! Granted its not the most elegantly designed of roundabouts but it gets the job done and I'm sorry its not_that difficult to negotiate.
For anyone of average intelligence and driving ability it should not be rocket sciene to navigate it effortlessly. How hard is it to yield to someone already in the roundabout ahead of you, and follow the painted white airplanes to your exit?
God help those folks who still can't figure it out: piece of advice - don't you ever drive in Europe if our tiny roundabout tightens your sphincter! And especially England as the locals will have no mercy on some poor person from Oak Bay doing 50kph on their main motorways white knuckling it and fumbling about with a map......
I will admit though I had been exposed to the absolute worst of roundabouts which i managed to get through - the Swindon Puzzle west north west of London - when I was barely 16, so admittedly nothing we can conjure up on this side of the pond is going to remotely bother me.
For those who get fussed about the roundabout here consider its Swindon Big brother is made up of five smaller roundabouts all going in a counter-clockwise direction, in turn all arranged around a sixth outer circle with vehicles travelling clockwise. Try that on for size, driving on the right side of the vehicle, shifting with your left hand then entering and exiting this baby in Greater London commuter traffic on a dark wet night.....
The "Magic Puzzle" is much a mind bender they actually did make a puzzle in its 'honor':

Anyway, I'm glad, and so is the rest of society, that we're not building those silly things any more, as highway interchanges
Looks like things are picking up speed on this site.
Lots of action on this build.
Average intelligence for driving is not a good criteria. Basically that leaves about 50% of people unable to handle it.
As George Carlen said, think about how stupid the average person actually is and then spend five minutes thinking about what the word average actually means.
