Uptown Shopping Centre's much anticipated Whole Foods Market is set to open in less than two months as the Saanich retail hub celebrates the completion of its third phase.
The Austin, Texas-based up-scale supermarket chain has leased a 40,000 square foot space at the corner of Blanshard Street and Ravine Way along Uptown's northeastern edge. The opening date is reportedly November 2nd.
Whole Foods is hosting a series of career fairs throughout September for all in-store positions, including managerial and team leader roles.
As part of Uptown road improvements launched ahead of Whole Foods' opening, crews have been working on a connector between Carey Road and the northbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway. Upon completion vehicles will no longer be prohibited from turning right onto Carey Road off the highway, however, access to the highway from Carey Road will remain limited to northbound traffic.
Uptown Shopping Centre's upcoming fourth phase will include an 11-storey purpose-built rental tower and over 55,000 square feet of commercial space. Construction will take place immediately to the south of Whole Foods. C
