After several years in planning, the District of Saanich has approved an affordable seniors residence at 3200 Linwood Avenue just north of the Tolmie Road Saanich-Victoria border.

Developed by the Baptist Housing Society, the four-storey, nearly 100-unit residence will replace the 29-unit, two-storey Linwood Court seniors complex currently on the property. The existing facility has reached the age of replacement.
3200 Linwood Avenue will include socializing spaces for residents and amenities such as a guest room, a kitchen and a dining area.
Suites will mostly range between 550 to 600 square foot sizes, while shared balcony areas will provide socializing opportunities for residents.
In recent years the Baptist Housing Society has been involved in several seniors housing developments such as the 55-unit Carey Place project at the Capital Regional District’s Campus of Care along Carey Road, and the nearby Heights at Mt. View with 260 homes.
Elsewhere in the municipality several seniors projects are making their way through the planning process, including an affordable housing proposal at the Nigel Valley precinct and the redevelopment of Luther Court adjacent to the Lutheran Church of the Cross on Cedar Hill Road. A market seniors project, known as the Terraces at Highgate, is proposed by Trillium Communities on Cedar Hill Road at Cedar Hill Cross Road. C
