Dominion Rocket Residences, a recently restored 97-unit apartment complex with ground floor commercial space in the 800-block of Yates Street, has been listed for sale.
The former hotel underwent extensive interior and exterior renovations between 2013 and 2015, transforming the heritage building from a transient accommodation to a mix of mostly studio and one-bedroom apartment units.
Rocket’s ground floor commercial spaces are home to Yates Street Taphouse, a Liquor Express liquor outlet and Foo, an eatery situated in a single-storey extension fronting onto the building’s surface parking lot. All three are expected to remain on as tenants should a change of ownership occur.
The Victoria office of commercial brokerage firm CBRE is brokering the sale and has listed the property at $19.1 million. Several years prior, the Dominion Hotel reportedly sold for $7 million.
The surface parking lot has been eyed as a food truck space and a location for local events, the first of which is planned for the weekend of June 25th. C
