A public hearing has been scheduled to seek community feedback on a proposal to build 100-units of age-in-place seniors rental housing on Wale Road in Colwood.
Developer Trillium Communities plans to erect two six-storey congregate housing buildings on a bare lot at 333 Wale Road, land formerly eyed for condo residences.
Trillium operates the adjacent 62-unit West Shore Lodge seniors housing complex, that with the granting of approvals for West Shore Village, will become part of an expanded residential campus geared towards a variety of age-in-place housing options and services.
Pending a successful municipal approvals process, construction of West Shore Village's first building is expected to get underway next year.
The public hearing will be held on Monday, December 5th at 6:30PM in the City of Colwood's city hall located at 3300 Wishart Road. C
