The Shelbourne Valley's newest condominium pre-sale is nearing its Grand Opening event on May 25th, Citified has learned.

As one of the year's most anticipated pre-construction home offerings, 87-suite Oak & Stone (view the project's profile, or view the project's website) is the latest release from builder-developer Abstract Developments, which recently celebrated a 50% sold-out milestone at the company's already underway Central Block in Esquimalt, and welcomed homeowners to its newly completed Sparrow condominiums in Victoria.

“In light of the growing demand for new homes in Victoria, Oak & Stone is a pre-sale opportunity at the right time, in the right location, from a home builder with nearly 25 years of award-winning development history throughout Greater Victoria," said Tavish Rai, Abstract’s CEO. "Saanich's Shelbourne Valley is one of the most sought after residential destinations in the Capital, served by excellent transit connectivity, nearby retail amenities, and only minutes from the University of Victoria and Camosun College Lansdowne campuses."

Oak & Stone's junior, one and two-bedroom layouts will be revealed at the Grand Opening event, where on display at Abstract's Douglas Street Home Store will be market-leading designer trends, curated material choices and finishings the brand is known for.

Although design palettes and key aspects of the project remain under wraps until the official launch, Rai says six-storey Oak & Stone, coming to Shelbourne Street at McRae Avenue, promises to be a "first of its kind" in Victoria's market.

"The Shelbourne Valley is widely regarded as an urban gem, that is experiencing a significant shift in its pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, with top-tier retailers anchoring the thoroughfare alongside destination-level restaurants, and all within a slower-paced, tree-lined setting a short distance to downtown Victoria. And it is within this context, that we are readying to unveil something very special, a first of its kind even, for the city," Rai said.

Shelbourne Street from University Heights Shopping Centre to North Dairy Road at the Saanich-Victoria border has been earmarked by the District of Saanich as a high growth area central to the Capital's employment, entertainment, shopping and education nodes, and represents a strategic focus for Abstract's future roster of homes.

Abstract has geared Oak & Stone towards a wide range of purchasers, including first-time buyers, the investor market and end-users, with shopping and recreational opportunities nearby to reflect a variety of mobility choices.

"With every Abstract community, we strive to be market leaders and push past the expected, with interior design and material choices that are at the forefront of condominium living, and Oak & Stone builds on over two and a half decades of Abstract’s commitment to thoughtful design and robust construction standards,” Rai said, adding that "from a new-build standpoint, Oak & Stone will raise the bar for the Shelbourne Valley, as this area of Victoria's core undergoes densification and grows into a trend-setting neighbourhood for Saanich."

While the market awaits Abstract's amenity unveiling and project details, what homebuyers can expect from Oak & Stone's Shelbourne Street location are plentiful transit services via routes connecting shopping centres and various points throughout the region. The transit connectivity from Oak & Stone makes for streamlined transport for students requiring access to UVic and Camosun, and for residents connecting to Victoria's downtown core, multiple employment hubs in the region, and shopping.

Nearby retail includes Hillside Centre's newly opened Walmart Supercentre and Canadian Tire stores, along with the mall's wide range of retail services. Retail plazas along Shelbourne Street add more amenities, such as a Fairway grocery store, a Thrifty Foods grocery store, multiple cafes and coffee shops, restaurants, take-out diners and ethnic food options.

University Heights Shopping Centre, just a short bus ride to the north from McRae Avenue, is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment into modern retail and commercial spaces expected to open in 2025 or early 2026.

To be among the first to preview Oak & Stone starting May 25th, connect with the Abstract home sales team by viewing the Abstract website here, or by dropping by the Abstract Home Store at 3198 Douglas Street at Tolmie Avenue.
