The Browns Social House chain of restaurants is in expansion mode once again with plans to open an emerging restaurant concept in Vic West dubbed Browns Crafthouse.

 

Specializing in craft beers and "mixology" (a term referring to inventive and unique cocktails), Browns Crafthouse is slated to open at Vic West’s Westside Village Shopping Centre in a space formerly occupied by TD Bank, Citified has learned.

 

Sitting vacant for half a decade, the former bank branch – at Tyee Road and Bay Street – will be converted to a sit-down restaurant and bar with construction starting as early as this fall and completion anticipated by mid-2018. [update: unit improvements began in the fall of 2018].

 

Browns Crafthouse will join the newly-opened Big Wheel Burger chain at Westside Village, which situated its third location at the Vic West shopping centre earlier this year.

 

Vancouver-based Browns Restaurant Group operates over 60 franchised restaurants throughout Canada under the Browns Social House and Browns Crafthouse banners, plus three restaurants in Washington State named Scotty Browns. The company's Victoria locations are situated in downtown Victoria, Uptown Shopping Centre in Saanich and in Langford’s downtown core on the West Shore.
