Esquimalt council has given its blessing for the return of a public house to the site of the Tudor House Pub on Esquimalt Road at Admirals Road.
Operators have proposed a two-storey, 500-seat Irish-styled pub that will be situated adjacent to the Tudor House Liquor Store on a vacant site fronting Admirals Road. The pub will feature family areas in addition to what is being referred to as an "authentic" Irish pub experience.

"We are truly grateful to every one of our customers who choose to support Esquimalt's local, family owned and operated specialty liquor store. Your continued support will ensure the quick and successful completion of the future pub," reads a statement from Marta and Bernie Dumas, the liquor store's operators and future publicans, as part of a social media post.
Construction is expected to get underway in the not-too-distant future with completion in time for St. Patrick's Day of March, 2021.
The Tudor House Pub, which operated as a neighbourhood fixture for generations near Esquimalt's Canadian Forces base, burned down in 2013. A liquor store opened on the site of the pub in 2017, while adjacent land next to the liquor has been maintained as a surface parking lot in anticipation of redevelopment. C
