Construction will start this fall on a 173-unit seniors rental apartment and condominium residence along the downtown Victoria and James Bay border.
Concert Properties' 15-storey Tapestry tower will rise on land currently occupied by the shuttered Crystal Court Motel opposite downtown Victoria’s lawn bowling green at Douglas and Belleville streets.
Geared towards seniors looking to age-in-place, Tapestry will feature 131 assisted and independent living rental apartments in studio, one and two-bedroom configurations ranging between just under 400 square feet to over 900 square feet.
42 condominium suites, earmarked for the top of the tower, will offer units in one and two-bedroom layouts sized from 600 square feet to 1,200 square feet.
Tapestry’s architectural configuration will include a four-storey podium spanning the length of the 700-block of Belleville Street. A single ground level commercial space, anticipated to be a restaurant, will front onto Belleville and Douglas streets.
80 underground parking stalls will be available to residents, with ten available to visitors and nine for the building's commercial component.
Some 16,000 square feet of senior-oriented amenity spaces will be situated atop the four-storey podium and along the Belleville Street frontage.
Building occupancy is anticipated for late 2019 or early 2020. C
