An 11-storey seniors residence comprised of condominiums, rental apartments and memory care suites is coming to the 600-block of Admirals Road in Esquimalt.
The tower will rise on land formerly occupied by Esquimalt’s Legion and an adjacent auto parts retailer near the intersection of Esquimalt and Admirals roads not far from a recently approved
12-storey condominium tower on Admirals Road at Naden Way.
Dubbed
Vista Senior Living, 38-units in the building will be in the form of market condominiums geared towards seniors, 95-units will be rental apartments while 48-suites will feature memory-care services.
The building’s 11th floor is earmarked for a common area for residents. Two levels of underground parking will accommodate some 130 vehicle stalls.
Redevelopment of Esquimalt’s Legion has been in the works since 2007 when plans were laid to transform the property into a residential complex for seniors.
Construction is slated to begin next year while site preparations are due to begin by year’s end. Completion and occupancy are expected by 2021. C
