The vision behind a planned redevelopment of View Royal's Christie Point community has been revealed by Toronto-based developer Realstar Group.
Designed by Victoria-based D'Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism, development plans for the 15.8-acre site along Craigowen Road call for seven purpose-built rental buildings ranging in height from four to six-storeys. An earlier concept envisioned building heights of up to nine-storeys.
D'Ambrosio's vision entails two circular buildings with sweeping views of View Royal's Portage Inlet and five elongated buildings with a slight curvature. A mix of housing units are planned, together with ground level townhomes. The exact volume of units has yet to be determined.
Christie Point was originally developed in the 1960's and currently contains 161-units of two and three-bedroom rental apartments.
Citified's data for this project will be updated once the planning process has confirmed building heights, unit types and housing density. To view the latest plans for Christie Point, click here.
