Existing Highgate is an "active living" building with a woodshop and billiards. Common areas are getting a refurb while we're adding on the new wing. Several Trillium properties are likely to get similar improvements as the owner is eager to provide for the diverse needs of retirees which will be coming of age soon.
The daycare is to provide an interface between the retirement community and the wider neighborhood, as Jackerbie has guessed. Also a guaranteed lease income... Daycares are an essential service.
whoa... i grew up in the area. When did the buy all this property?
Not open to the public, but you are welcome to plan your retirement early with Trillium :)
My wife used to be a manager for Revera on Shelbourne across from the U Heights mall, she always spoke highly of Trillium. Before I take up residence in a 'home' we'll spend a few retirement years initially in the French Creek/Qualicum area I think. That's the plan right now anyway, heh. Still a few years away......

July 2016 the site was purchased.

Second bowling alley proposed for Saanich, albeit with a twist
