Oceanfront Sooke condo dev draws buyers from across the continent

Rugged nature and luxury living have found common ground in a unique condominium pre-sale opportunity just beyond the urban footprint of Victoria.

The Residences on Sooke Harbour is a proverbial front row seat on the picturesque Sooke waterfront backdropped by the expanse of the Salish Sea and Washington State’s towering Olympic Mountains.

“The community of Sooke is a celebration of so much that is Canada’s west coast, and its setting along the banks of the Salish Sea is literally picture-perfect,” says Jesse Fitzpatrick, one of the developers behind the project. “The ocean view, framed by mountains and seaside forests, is to many residents the epitome of southern Vancouver Island’s coastal setting.”

Coming soon to Maple Avenue South at the town’s government wharf, the four-storey lowrise will be comprised of 27 one, two and three-bedroom up-market suites with interior finishings offering an avant-garde sophistication and a level of craftsmanship fitting of its oceanside setting.

Oriented to maximize sight lines from all suites (and from a well equipped fitness facility, no less) the west coast-themed building’s nine floorplans – with one-bedroom homes priced from the mid-$400,000’s and two-bedroom layouts from the high $500,000’s – share a balance of spacious living spaces with outdoor vistas, an approach Fitzpatrick and his team chose in order to appeal to a wide range of tastes.

“Compromise is not something we were prepared to introduce into our sales campaign,” Fitzpatrick said. “The way we crafted the interiors was to present an upside to every suite on every floor to balance interior layouts while taking into consideration views from each suite, and this has been well received.”

Drawing interest from as far away as the southern United States and central Canada, The Residences’ sales have been brisk with buyers recognizing the importance a walkable oceanside location plays into real-estate acquisitions particularly when coupled with the level of quality Fitzpatrick has on offer.

“Our purchasers have focused on our larger homes and they have done so with the intent of residing in Sooke year-round, which is a real testament to the appeal Sooke has as a well-rounded community with quality restaurants, a wide range of amenities, a growing array of retail offerings and outdoor recreational opportunities. And Victoria’s Westshore with its shopping centres is just a short drive away.”

Site preparations for the building’s underground parking component are expected to begin by early 2019 with construction set to follow that summer. Occupancy is slated for late 2020.
