First and only female Canadian prime minister to speak at Victoria women's symposium

The Right Honourable Kim Campbell, Canada's first and only female prime minister, will be in Victoria this month to give a keynote address focused on strategies for mobilizing women in times of uncertainty and political change.
The RH Kim Campbell will be speaking at Bridges for Women Society's seventh annual Bridges, Not Walls symposium on March 25th. The event will commemorate women’s achievements and recognize local women.
“Watching the Right Honourable Kim Campbell speak on women’s issues in the lead up to the US election was so inspiring. We are thrilled that she is able to join us as our keynote speaker,” says Victoria Pruden, Executive Director, Bridges for Women Society.
“Recent women’s marches all over the world are creating a sense of hope among women, and we want to keep that momentum going with timely discourse and motivation.”
Bridges, Not Walls will align with the United Nations’ international Orange Day, the 25th of each month declared to ‘UNiTE’ to end violence again women.
RH Kim Campbell, who served as prime minister between June 25th and November 4th, 1993, will speak at what has been described as an “accessible keynote question and answer period” at the Victoria Conference Centre’s Carson Hall.
Attendance is limited to 400 patrons and includes a networking lunch, presentations, door prizes and a silent auction.
Bridges, Not Walls will commence at 10AM and run through 2PM on March 25th at the Victoria Conference Centre located at 720 Douglas Street. Tickets are available for $100 and can be purchased here. For over 29 years, Bridges for Women Society has been delivering trauma-informed employment training and supportive programs to Victoria women impacted by violence and abuse. C
