A construction start is just around the corner for a 5,150 square foot addition to Sooke's SEAPARC Leisure Complex on Phillips Road near Sooke Road.
The $3.4 million addition, which will include a 3,600 square foot fitness gym, a 1,550 square foot movement studio and a 380 square foot child care room, is expected to be completed by early 2020.
“It has been a long road to get here and there have been some challenges but we are very excited to move ahead and start the project,” said SEAPARC Chair Al Beddows in a statement to media.
SEAPARC currently features over 51,000 square feet of multi-use recreational spaces that include two swimming pools, an ice arena, a multi-purpose room and a meeting room.
This project is made possible through a $1.24 million grant from the Strategic Priorities Federal Gas Tax Fund with remaining monies attained via local funding sources. C
