185 affordable new-build rental units are coming to the Greater Victoria housing market by 2017, according to data collected by Citified.

Currently under construction is Azzurro, a 65 unit, seven storey lowrise with a mix of bachelor and one bedroom homes at Blanshard and Discovery streets. Greater Victoria Rental Development Society, project developer, anticipates to have the homes available for rent by the fall of 2016. The ground floor is slated for retail spaces with a single storey of offices above.

In Victoria's Vic West neighbourhood Pacifica Housing and TL Housing Solutions are nearing the construction start of Wilson's Walk, a 108 unit, nine storey lowrise overlooking Vic West's Triangle Park on Wilson Street. Of the 108 bachelor, one bedroom and three bedroom units, 84 will be affordable and the remaining 24 priced at "near market rates." Construction is expected to be completed by late 2016 or early 2017.

M'akola Development Services is currently building a four storey, 36 unit subsidized housing project for urban Aboriginal families at 550 Goldstream Avenue in Langford. Layouts offer two and three bedroom homes with availability planned for late 2015 or early 2016. C
