The Morgan Block is a mixed-use project that will undertake the restoration the Morgan Block and the Watson & McGregor buildings (built in 1891 and 1909, respectively) in the 1300-block of Douglas Street and the 600-block of Johnson Street (respectively) into modern condominium residences and retail spaces.
Two-storeys will be added to the height of the buildings as part of a recessed new-build component.

Wish they could have combined it with the burger king lot on the corner.
No, that BK building is super old. It'll never be torn down.
Allow it to fall down or burn down? Sure. But the city would never allow it to be torn down. (Unless maybe the owner wanted to replace it with a surface parking lot.)
Seriously though, fix up all of the old buildings on this block of Douglas and it would be tremendous.
How did they get this so perfect and in the first attempt (I know.. City Hall has yet to weigh in)?! Is it really this easy? As long as that’s not hardie board on the upper level addition.. we’ve seen that happen before. But seriously, this is brilliant, time to give the keys of the city to the genious behind this. As Old Man Aastra mentioned let them restore Douglas in this style and I’d be.. hardly bored at all.
It has been to the City, back in 2018
